How are DonorPoint’s solution set up?

Our content is organized by Pages, most of which are set up as Forms for entering donations, registering for events, buying raffle tickets, bidding on auction items or simply providing contact information. You can create and publish Pages in DonorPoint, which link to your website, social media accounts, and emails. Your content serves as the Engagement with your prospect, and Pages are the vehicles you use to carry that messaging. Even if your initiative features multiple Engagements (i.e. a gala that includes taking money for reservations, selling raffle tickets, conducting an online auction, and accepting donations), they can be all grouped into one Form for optimal user experience.

What are the steps to get set up on DonorPoint’s platform?

Once you’ve created your DonorPoint account, enter your organization’s contact information (including a functioning outbound email address….DonorPoint uses Amazon’s Simple Email Service) and logo to use on Forms. Next up is organization and leadership financial data setup for a secure online merchant (credit card processing) account associated with your site, followed by selecting your DonorPoint license level. (NOTE: DonorPoint supports accepting transactions that will be invoices, as well as third-party processors like PayPal and Square.) You are then ready to create your first Engagement from a set of pre-defined wizards for Events, Raffles, Auctions and more! DonorPoint will then be your home for tips on how to achieve your fundraising goals, managing your Engagement, reporting results, and launching new Engagements. And if you have questions, our helpdesk is always a mouse-click away at help@donorpoint.com!

What does a DonorPoint Page look like?

It looks just like your website!  That’s the benefit of DonorPoint’s software solution — we take the best practices, tips and tricks from what currently works in the eCommerce space (from popular websites like Amazon, eBay, Apple and Wal-Mart) and put it in the hands of your developers to make your donors’ experience seamless — and your results successful.

How can donors pay for their online donations?

Your donors have several payment options for the donations they make:

  • Take care of it immediately online by using our secure credit card processing tool (with an option to save their CC info in the system for future donations)
  • Have an invoice automatically generated and sent for payment at a later date
  • Cash- or check-in-hand (for in-person fundraisers and events)
  • PayPal
  • Square
  • In-kind donation

How can I get Data in and out of my Pages?

You can use a Data ext? to get additional codes on Data records that you would use to import into your Accounting or Human Resources systems.

What Data and Security features does DonorPoint have?

DonorPoint has an underlying database that contains all your data — page content, constituent records, transactions, permissions, report definitions and more. Any data in the system is referred to as an Object; each Object is owned by an Account. A Class (Contacts, Pages, Reports, etc.) is a type of Object, and the Properties are the individual pieces of Data that occupy a field (i.e. constituents’ first and last names, images, blocks of HTML content and more) of an Object — or lists of Objects themselves. Objects of a Class can be defined however you want them.

How easy is it to use?

With a construction modeled after the best of eCommerce sites, DonorPoint’s donor engagement solution is clean, easy, quick, painless and impactful to the donor — and turnkey for an organization’s back office. Our template-based solution is customizable to your needs and organizational requirements, and compatible with just about all database and accounting systems as well as the most popular CRMs.

Does DonorPoint ever delete my Accounts, Objects, Classes, Properties and other content?

No. In general, Objects in DonorPoint are never deleted, but rather are archived — setting a flag within the Object to hide it by default in lists. Objects deleted accidentally can be recovered by simply filtering a List View to include archived Objects, then editing the object and un-checking the archived flag. (PCI DSS, htpps:// and we never delete)
